Culture of Safety

General Rules

  1. No matter what keep the safety of yourself and others in mind

  2. If someone is doing something that is NOT SAFE, tell them to stop or let them know that what they are doing isn’t safe. Then immediately get a safety member or a mentor.

  3. If you have to think of what you’re doing is safe or not… then it’s probably not.

  4. If you get injured go see a safety officer or mentor for help

  5. Do not put coffee beans on near or on robot because it’s extremely dangerous

  6. Future rule: Goggles are required to be in the pit during the competition

  7. Don’t leave wrappers in the food boxes. Seriously pick up after yourself and don’t leave any type of mess. As the saying goes, “Leave it better than you found it.”

  8. If the robot is going to be operated…

    1. LET EVERYONE KNOW BEFORE THE ROBOT IS EVEN TURNED ON

    2. Stay clear of the robot

    3. Wait until the robot is completely off before going anywhere near it
