General Rules
-
No matter what keep the safety of yourself and others in mind
-
If someone is doing something that is NOT SAFE, tell them to stop or let them know that what they are doing isn’t safe. Then immediately get a safety member or a mentor.
-
If you have to think of what you’re doing is safe or not… then it’s probably not.
-
If you get injured go see a safety officer or mentor for help
-
Do not put coffee beans on near or on robot because it’s extremely dangerous
-
Future rule: Goggles are required to be in the pit during the competition
-
Don’t leave wrappers in the food boxes. Seriously pick up after yourself and don’t leave any type of mess. As the saying goes, “Leave it better than you found it.”
-
If the robot is going to be operated…
-
LET EVERYONE KNOW BEFORE THE ROBOT IS EVEN TURNED ON
-
Stay clear of the robot
-
Wait until the robot is completely off before going anywhere near it
-
-
If something goes wrong with the robot while it's on, DON’T GO NEAR IT! Let a mentor know and STAY CLEAR OF THE ROBOT, again DON’T GO NEAR THE ROBOT!
